ELMHURST, IL – You’re cordially invited to join the Theatre Historical Society of America (THS) on January 24, 2014 for a public Open House from 6-8 P.M. at its headquarters above the York Theatre in Elmhurst.
During the event, THS will also unveil the new Willis & Shirley Johnson and Classic Cinemas Research & Education Center, named after local philanthropists Willis and Shirley Johnson whose Tivoli Enterprises, Inc./Classic Cinemas provided leadership support for the THS office renovation project this past fall.
“We have the largest collection of theatre architecture-related materials in North America and we wanted to make sure our space was best suited for researchers coming to visit Elmhurst and our collections,” said Richard Fosbrink, Executive Director about the renovation.
“We were extremely lucky to have the generous support of Willis and Shirley Johnson in this project. In recognition of their leadership support, we’re thrilled to name our new Research & Education Center after them in gratitude.”
