Strings, Swing and Gershwin

The Elmhurst Symphony String Ensemble will show that strings can swing, too when they perform their own lush and bluesy interpretations of favorites by George Gershwin and Edward “Duke” Ellington. The group will play up-beat favorites such as: ‘It Ain’t Necessarily So’, and ’ Take the “A” Train’, and some memorable ballads like ‘Solitude’ and ‘Summertime’ along with some colorful commentary. This concert will have you tripping down memory lane as you tap your toes and try to resist singing along with these catchy jazz standards.
