The Governmental Affairs Committee of the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry is forwarding information on the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic guidelines for phased re-opening of parks and golf courses, per Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker’s “Stay at Home” Executive Order extension effective May 1.

Guests will be allowed to engage in recreational activities such as wildlife observation, hiking, biking, equestrian use and fishing and mushroom hunting. Fishing (both from the bank and boats) and boating in groups of no more than two people will be permitted.
All visitor centers, campgrounds, playgrounds, shelter reservations, interpretive educational programs, beaches, special events and concessions will remain closed, while turkey hunting will remain suspended at state parks.
Golf will be permitted as a recreational activity under strict safety guidelines provided by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), while ensuring that social distancing is followed.
