The Governmental Affairs Committee of the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry is sharing small business-related information from the United States Chamber of Commerce included within the federal $2.2 trillion stimulus package in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic, as follows:
On March 27, the U.S. Congress approved and President Donald J. Trump signed into law the third piece of legislation—the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Econpomic Secvurity (CARES) Act—adding to nearly $1 trillion in previously appropriated economic relief for businesses and employees who have suffered finincial damages during this Pandemic,
The CARES Act includes $350 billion in “Paycheck Protection Program” emergency loans administered through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to help small businesses keep their workers employed. In fact, small businesses that maintain or later restore their payrolls may not have to repay some—or possibly any—of the loan.
