In celebration of Chamber of Commerce Week in Illinois, our Chamber will sponsor a month of networking and fundraising events, offer a new member recruitment incentive and hold a special sale on our Elmhurst-Opoly board game.
At the request of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker has proclaimed September 9-13 as Chamber of Commerce Week in Illinois.
Mayoral Proclamation
Elmhurst Mayor Steve Morley has issued a Mayoral Proclamation declaring September 9-15 as Chamber of Commerce Week in Elmhurst.
Established in 1918, our Chamber is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who have joined together for the purpose of “promoting an environment that creates success for local businesses and our community.”
Our Chamber also serves the needs of its members through services, programs and events that provide opportunities for networking and referral, business education, development and promotion, governmental representation and community involvement.
Elmhurst-Opoly Sales Special
During September, our Chamber is selling Elmhurst-Opoly board games at a buy four and get a fifth game FREE special. The cost of $25 per games includes retail sales tax. Delivery outside of Elmhurst is an extra expense, dependent on the shipping cost. Less than 500 of the 1,000 games manufactured as part of our Chamber’s Centennial Celebration in 2018 are available for purchase. Games can be purchased online via a link on the home page of our Chamber’s website or at our office at 300A West Lake Street, Suite 201.
New Member Campaign
Our Chamber’s new member campaign runs through September, with all new members receiving a complimentary Elmhurst-Opoly game. Annual membership is available at three tiers, starting at $480 per year, plus a $25 registration fee. New members can pay Chamber dues monthly via direct debit or credit card.
Business After Hours
On Thursday, September 5, Fitness Formula Club in downtown Elmhurst will host our monthly Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m., showcasing FFC’s roof-top lounge and outdoor swimming pool. Click HERE to register.

On Wednesday, September 11, Elmhurst American Legion THB Post 187 will host our monthly Membership Breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. Click HERE to register.
Golf Outing
Our Chamber will stage its 71st Annual Golf Outing, “Networking on the 9s,” at Sugar Creek Golf Course in Villa Park on Wednesday, September 18, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The cost of $90 per person includes nine holes of golf, cart, deli luncheon buffet, complimentary beverages, premium giveaway and more. Click HERE to register.
Centennial Military Ball
Elmhurst American Legion THB Post 187 will formally celebrate its 100th Anniversary by hosting a Centennial Military Ball in the Normandy Room of the Post’s 310 West Butterfield Road location on Saturday, September 28, starting at 18:00 hours military time (6 p.m.). Ticket cost is $125 per person or $1,000 for a table of eight, and the RSVP deadline in September 14. Call 630-833-7800 for tickets or more information.
Chartered by the United States Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization, The American Legion focuses on service to veterans, service members and communities, according to its website. It has evolved from a group of war-weary veterans of World War I into one of the most influential not-for-profit groups in the U.S. Chartered on September 26, 1919, Post 187 is named in honor of Ernest Timrott, Richard Hintz and Kinsley Buck, or THB, all killed in action in the summer of 1918.
