Dear Members:
With donations from our Chamber and yours truly, fundraising by the Elmhurst Firefighters to develop a First Responders Memorial Plaza at First Station No.2 has raced past the $100K mark towards its goal of $150K.
The plaza will feature a metal sculptor designed by Elmhurst resident Jason Peot incorporating a piece of commuter rail line from underneath the Twin Towers given to the City after 9-11.

Stories Behind The Songs
“Stories Behind The Songs,” the Fourth Annual Military Benefit, will return to the Normandy Banquet Room at Elmhurst American Legion THB Post 187 on Saturday, November 11, from 6 to 10 p.m.

This year’s list of Nashville songwriters features Grammy-winning Frank Myers, who hits include I Swear (John Michael Montgomery), My Front Porch Looking In (Lonestar), I’m Already There (Lonestar), You and I (Eddie Rabbit/Crystal Gayle) and so many more.
Joining Myers are newcomers Wynn Varble and Danny Wells. Varble’s hits include Have You Forgotten (Darryl Worley), Waitin’ On A Woman (Brad Paisley) and A Little More Country Than That (Easton Corbin). Wells’ hits include Check Yes or No (George Strait), These Days (Rascal Flatts), Couldn’t Last a Moment (Colin Ray), and Little Bit of Life (Craig Morgan).
Connecting The Dots Progressive Luncheon

November is the final month for members to purchase display advertising in the 2024 Elmhurst Community Directory, produced in partnership with the Elmhurst Suburban Life/Shaw Media. Come January, Directories will be Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM)-delivered to some 19,800 residential, business and Post Office Box addresses across Elmhurst. Buck-A-Duck Raffle
Shirley Swanson of Essential Bodywear and Doug Davies of Delta RMS became the 13th and 14th qualifiers for the Buck-A-Duck Raffle finale when their $1 ducks were plucked at the October 17 Membership Breakfast at the Elmhurst Art Museum and October 19 Business After Hours at Elmhurst Bank’s main branch in south Elmhurst.
With one month to go before final drawing at the Annual Holiday Business After Hours hosted by Community Bank of Elmhurst on December 7, the split-the-pot total is already nearing $1.5K.
