Dear Members:
The Chamber’s 95th Annual Awards at the Waterford Banquet & Conference Center on Friday, January 31, will include a Talent Showcase featuring live performances by School of Rock-Elmhurst, GreenMan Theatre Troupe, members of the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra and Elmhurst College Jazz Band Director Doug Beach, who will be honored as the 2013 inductee into our Civic Hall of Fame.
Honorees include Community Bank of Elmhurst as the first two-time recipient of the A.J. “Toche” Terrones Business of the Year, John Zawaski of Dependable Business Forms as the first three-time winner of the Ambassador of the Year, Dave McCaffrey of Predictive Personnel Assets as the Chairman’s Award recipient and 2013 Board Chair Paul Koch of Larry Roesch Chrysler Jeep Dodge.
The 90-minute program will be taped by Elmhurst Our Kind of Town for airing in February on Channel 6 of Comcast and Channel 99 of AT&T U-verse.
We encourage Chamber members to attend the event, which starts with cocktails (cash bar) at 6:30 p.m. A variety of food stations will be open at 7 for one hour, with coffee and desserts following. The program starts at 8 p.m.
Thanks to the Annual Awards Subcommittee, chaired by Board of Directors Chair Julie Miller of Patrick T. Sheehan & Associates, for their efforts to improve our special night.
“State of Our City” Mayoral Address
Elmhurst Mayor Steve Morley will deliver his first “State of Our City” Mayoral Address at the Chamber’s Membership Breakfast hosted by Community Bank of Elmhurst in the second-floor Hammersmith Community Room on Tuesday, January 28, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Admission is free, but seating is limited to 150 businesspeople and tickets are required.

Happy Anniversary
Six members are celebrating Chamber anniversaries in January, as follows: 25 years—Steinhebel & Sons, Inc., Erwin; 20 years—Coldwell Brokers Residential Mortgage; 10 years—Easter Seals DuPage and the Fox Valley Region and Prairie Center; and 5 years—Baralt’s Custom Landscapes and Goodwill Retail Store & Donation Center.

The Chamber welcomed two new members in December, as follows (in alphabetical order): Black River Tech. and JRS Mar/Com (owned by ex-Director and former Chamber JOBPATH Program student intern Joe Skibbie).
