Elmhurst residents enjoy their community with a low crime rate thanks to the efforts of full-time and part-time sworn officers, K-9 unit, community service officers and civilian support staff who are focused on problem solving with strong input from residents. “Providing the Best,” officers patrol around the clock in marked and unmarked cars, and on foot.
Operational since 1992, A special C.O.P.P. unit (five officers, one supervisor) works with residents on a proactive partnership to prevent crime and resolve community problems.
Programs range from a Peer Jury for non-violent, first-time juvenile offenders to SALT, which brings seniors and lawmen together.
