Annual Meeting/Silent Auction
The Chamber will conduct its 2002 Annual Meeting/Silent Auction at Elmhurst College’s Frick Center, 190 Prospect Avenue, on Tuesday, November 19. The 30-minute Annual Meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. The “Taste of Elmhurst,” featuring complimentary food from the Chamber’s finest restaurants, and Silent Auction runs from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. To volunteer as a food vendor or Silent Auction donor, contact the Chamber by phone at 834-6060, fax at 834-6002 or e-mail at www.elmhurstchamber.org. Betsy Hanisch, Chairman of the Elmhurst Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors, was among the Influential Women in Business honored by The Business Ledger at an awards luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Woodfield in Schaumburg last Thursday (November 7).

(211 Spangler Avenue), the Chamber’s A.J. “Toche” Terrones Business of the Year in 2001, was named among the 500 fastest-growing companies in the October issue of Inc. magazine. Ranked No. 231, Cardinal Cartridge has achieved 967% sales growth in the past five years, from $799,000 in 1997 to $8,533,000 in 2001.
Edward Jones, with investment representatives by Jeff McGinnis (112-A South York Street) and Jason Janes (115 West Vallette Street) in Elmhurst, was rated No. 1 among full-service brokers in the October issue of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine. Through November 18, Kinder Castle Early Care and Education Center (212 West Lake Street) will collect Christmas gift-filled shoeboxes for needy children around the world through the Operation Christmas Child program.
