ELMHURST CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
ELECTS OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS
ELMHURST, Ill., November 15, 2000 – The Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry welcomed seven newly elected members to its Board of Directors at the regular monthly meeting on Tuesday (November 14) before electing officers for 2001.
Elected to one-year terms on the Chamber’s Executive Committee were:
Chairman–Rich Reichert, Executive Vice President and Controller of Community Bank of Elmhurst (330 West Butterfield Road);
Vice First Chairman—Adam Hudelson, District President of Firstar Bank (536 South York Street); and
Second Vice Chairman—Cathy Bajkowski, financial professional of The MONY Group (700 Commerce Drive, Suite, Oak Brook).
Reichert, Hudelson and Bajkowski will be joined on the Chamber’s six-member Executive Committee by President John Quigley, Past Chairman Frank Catalano Jr., President and CEO of CCS Mortgage (112 South York Street), and a Treasurer to be appointed by the Chairman with Board approval.
Reichert will work closely with the Chamber staff and oversee the policy-making work of the Chamber Board and its four standings committees: Marketing, Membership, Ways and Means, and Governmental Affairs. He served as First Vice Chairman in 1999, Second Vice Chairman in 1998 and Treasurer in 1997.
Hudelson will chair the Marketing Committee in his role as First Vice Chairman. He previously served as Second Vice Chairman in 2000 and Treasurer in 1999.
Bajkowski, who served as Treasurer in 2000, will chair the Membership Committee as Second Vice Chairman.
Newly elected Directors, who will serve three-year terms, included:
* Larry Carroll, Director of the Center for Professional Excellence and Associate
Professor in the Center for Business and Economics at Elmhurst College (190 Prospect Avenue), to his second full term. Carroll co-chairs the Chamber’s Leadership Elmhurst Committee;
* Don Meyers, Owner of Vital Signs USA (1036 South York Street), to his first
full term. Meyers was first appointed to the Board last January to fill a vacancy;
* Val Stewart, Director of Community Relations and Publications for Elmhurst
Public Schools District 205 (130 West Madison Avenue), to her first full term. Stewart, who was appointed to the Board last January to fill a vacancy, chairs the Chamber’s Blueprint for Success Program;
* Erv Helmuth, Owner of ENH Enterprises (5 Elm Creek Drive, #204), to his
first full term. Helmuth is Chairman of the Chamber Ambassadors and the 1999 Ambassador of the Year recipient;
* John Zawaski, Owner of Dependable Business Forms (P.O. Box 404), to his
first full term. Zawaski is a Chamber Ambassador;
* Tom Cathcart, Manager of Retirement Plans for Keebler Company (677 Larch
Avenue), to his first full term. Cathcart served on the Chamber’s 2000 Golf Outing Committee; and
* Colleen Callahan, Director of Marketing and Communications for the Elmhurst
Park District (225 Prospect Avenue), to her first full term. Callahan has served on the Chamber’s Elmfest Steering Committee.
Cyndy Crider, Vice President of Old Kent Bank (105 South York Road), also was appointed to the Board to fill a vacancy.
Established in 1918, the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who have joined together for the purpose of promoting the civic and commercial progress of the community.
The Chamber also serves the needs of its members through services, programs and events that provide opportunities for networking and referral, business education, development and promotion, governmental representation and community involvement.
