MEET THE NEW MAYOR OF ELMHURST, APRIL 16

Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce, Elmhurst College to Co-Host Event

ELMHURST, Ill., April 6, 2009 – This spring, for the first time in 16 years, the City of Elmhurst will elect a new mayor.  On Thursday evening, April 16, Elmhurst College and the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry will jointly present an opportunity for citizens to meet the new Mayor, just nine days after the election.

The event will include an opportunity for audience members to hear from and personally greet the winner.  It will run from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Founders Lounge of the College’s Frick Center (190 Prospect Avenue, Elmhurst).  Admission is free, and parking is available in the large lot along Alexander Boulevard.

“In addition to getting to know the new Mayor,” said John Quigley, Chamber President and CEO, and 1977 Elmhurst College alumnus, “This will be a great opportunity for civic involvement — particularly for relative newcomers to the City, and future voters.”

The Mayor-elect will have the opportunity to give a few, short remarks.  Other elected city officials (e.g., Treasurer, City Clerk, and several Aldermen) will also be introduced.     For further information, or to RSVP, call (630) 617-3212 or (630) 834-6060.
