Beautification Awards
The 2002 Beautification Awards Program co-sponsored by the Chamber and Elmhurst Economic Development Corporation (209 North York Street) is airing on “Elmhurst Our Kind of Town” on Channel 6 of AT&T Cable Services throughout May at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and 3:00 p.m. on Sundays.

Business After Hours
US Bank (536 South York Street), formerly Firstar Bank, and Schiller Real Estate, Inc. (540 South York Street) will co-host a Business After Hours on Wednesday, May 15, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Membership Breakfast
The Center for Speech and Language Disorders (195 West Spangler) will host the Chamber’s Membership Breakfast on Wednesday, April 22, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m., concluding with cash prize drawings in the Second Annual $10,000 Raffle to benefit its “Help a Child Fund.”

Minimum Wage Debate
Proposals to raise Illinois’ minimum wage from $5.15 to $6.50 per hour are being discussed by the Illinois General Assembly.  Only 11 states (none in the Midwest) have a minimum wage greater than $5.15, which is also the federal standard.

Scott Schuster of A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. (One Lincoln Centre, Suite 900, Oakbrook Terrace) has become a Registered Financial Consultant and has added an Accredited Asset Management Specialist qualification to his Certified Public Accountant title.

PACT, Inc.
