Business After Hours
My Friend’s Place Salon & Nails (112 West Third Street) and Fontano’s Subs (113 West First Street) will co-host the Chamber’s Business After Hours at My Friend’s Place on Friday, May 12, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Business Networking for Women
Elmhurst also is among six chambers participating in a half-day Women in Business seminar, titled “Increase Your Networking Savvy: Make Your Network Work For You,” featuring networking expert Lillian Bjorseth, at Seven Bridges in Woodridge on Friday, May 12, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Bjorseth is a nationally renowned speaker and trainer who helps Fortune 500 employees build high-value relationships by honing business networking, business development and communication skills. The registration fee of $45.00 per member includes breakfast and lunch. RSVP to the Chamber office by Monday, May 8.

Fifth Third Bank (105 South York Street) will host the Chamber’s Membership Breakfast on Wednesday, May 10, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. Bank officials also will present the Chamber with a check for $7,000.00 as the exclusive Gold Sponsor of the City Centre Stage for Elmfest 2006, which will celebrate its 24th Anniversary in downtown Elmhurst June 8-11.

The City of Elmhurst (209 North York Street), Elmhurst American Legion THB Post 187 (310 West Butterfield Road), Elmhurst Veterans of Foreign Wars Walter A. Glos Post 2048 and Chamber will sponsor Elmhurst’s 88th Annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 29, starting at 9:30 a.m. from York and Third streets in downtown Elmhurst. The Grand Marshal is Elmhurst resident Daniel Wallace Foot, a Purple Heart-winning Iraqi war veteran and reservist sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. A post-parade ceremony will take place at the Veterans Memorial in Wilder Park at around 11:15 a.m.
