Kevin Kost of Edward Jones Investment will be honored as 2019 Ambassador of the Year at the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s 101st Annual Awards Gala in the main floor ballroom at The Drake Oak Brook Hotel in Oak Brook on Friday, January 31, 2020, from 5 to 9 p.m.
The award is presented annually to a member of the green-coated Chamber Ambassadors for his/her outstanding service.
“Kevin is exemplary in his representation of our Chamber in multiple capacities—as a member, as a Board Director and, of course, as an Ambassador,” said John R. Quigley, ECCI President and CEO since 1999. “He is adept in taking on a leadership role as he is contributing as part of a team.”
As ECCI’s public relations team, Ambassadors welcome new members at their Grand Opening celebrations with ribbon-cuttings, and join members celebrating Grand Re-Openings, major anniversaries and office expansions or relocations.
A Chamber member since 2009, Kost has served as a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones Investments since 2008 and in Elmhurst since 2009.
Kost recently completed his second three-year term (2013-19) as an elected member of the Board of Directors, including 2019 Board Chair, and is serving on the Board in 2020 via his Executive Committee role as immediate Past Chair.
“In spite of the numerous demands of serving as Board Chair, Kevin maintained his level of commitment in his Ambassador duties,” stated Quigley.
A member of the Rotary Club of Elmhurst since 2010, Kost has served in various board positions, including President for 2014-15—the service club’s youngest in more than 50 years. He also chaired the club’s committee for The Stop Heroin in Elmhurst Campaign.
Kost is also an active volunteer with the Elmhurst-Yorkfield Food Pantry, including service on the Board of Directors.
Suburban Life Media named Kost among its dozen Best Under 40 honorees for 2015.
Kost earned a degree in marketing and sales from the College of Business at Illinois State University in Bloomington-Normal in 2008.
