Annual Meeting/Silent Auction
The Chamber will hold its Annual Meeting/Silent Auction with a “Taste of Elmhurst” and Elmhurst Jaycees-sponsored Casino Night in the Waterford Banquet Room at the Quality Inn (933 South Riverside Drive) on Wednesday, January 25, 2006, starting at 5:30 p.m. with the 30-minute Annual Meeting, where the A.J. “Toche” Terrones Business of the Year, Ambassador of the Year and Chairman’s Award for 2005 will be presented. The Silent Auction, “Taste of Elmhurst” and Jaycees Casino will run from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Casino proceeds benefit the Elmhurst Fire Department Fire Engine Restoration Fund. Ticket cost is $10.00 per person; bar is cash.
Business After Hours
Seven Ten Lanes (119 North York Street) will host the Chamber’s monthly Business After Hours on Tuesday, January 31, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Bianca rose (108 West Second Street), a new luxury shoe and handbag store, was featured in a segment on ABC-TV Channel 7 morning news show on January 9.
LaSalle Bank-North (205 North Addison Avenue) will restart regular Wednesday lobby and drive-up hours after a two-hiatus effective February 8.
Elene Cafasso of Enerpace, Inc., Executive and Personal Coaching (240 North Addison Avenue) will present “Speak From The Peak” presentation tips and techniques at The Sound Center, 4949 Forest Avenue, Downers Grove, on Saturday, February 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Each of the five early childhood classrooms at the Elmhurst Academy of Early Learning (212 West Lake Street) are engaged in an in-depth study of different countries in January as part of their Celebration of Diversity programming.
Special Events
The American Cancer Society’s 2005 Elmhurst and Villa Park Relay For Life Kick-Off will be held at Villa Nova Banquets, 237 W. St. Charles Rd., Villa Park, on Tuesday, January 31, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
The public is invited to attend the 2006 Dr. Robert Stanger Young Artists Competition in Irion Hall at Elmhurst College (190 Prospect Avenue) on Saturday, February 4, from 9:00 to 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 to 4:00 p.m. The event is conducted by the Elmhurst Symphony Association (P.O. Box 345) in cooperation with the Kiwanis Club of Elmhurst (P.O. Box 729) and Auxiliary of the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Stanger was a Kiwanian while serving as the College’s President.

The Elmhurst Historical Museum Foundation, Elmhurst Historical Museum (120 East Park Avenue) and the York Theatre (150 North York Street) will sponsor a special film screening of “In the Heat of the Night” and continental breakfast at the York on Saturday, March 11, at 10:0 a.m., followed by a catered lunch at Elmhurst City Hall (209 North York Street) with lecturer James Wall. Voter Registration
The League of Women Voters of Elmhurst will conduct voter registration drives at the Elmhurst Public Library on from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, and from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, February 8 and 20.
