Elmhurst resident Angela Villegas of Lakeside Bank was sworn in as a member of the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Board of Directors during the Board’s June 14 meeting in the second-floor Hammersmith Community Room at Community Bank of Elmhurst.
Villegas currently serves Lakeside Bank as Vice President, Retail Liaison, and is responsible for supporting the branches and the Retail Network Manager by serving as liaison between the branches and the Operations Department.
Without dissent, the Board approved Chair Eva Sanchez’s appointment of Villegas to fill the Director’s seat vacated by Dan Welz, also of Lakeside Bank. Villegas was administered the oath of office by Sanchez, Owner of See Your House Right Here @properties.
Welz, Lakeside Bank’s Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO), served two three-year terms as an elected Director (2018-2021).
Villegas also is serving as a member of the ECCI Marketing Committee, which is one of the Board’s four Standing Committees.
Villegas joined Lakeside Bank in 2016 as Vice President, Branch Manager, and opened Lakeside’s first suburban location in Elmhurst.
Her banking career started in 1994 at the age of 19 with American National Bank, First Chicago and Bank One.
Moving to Elmhurst in 2006, Villegas joined Welz’s staff at then-Suburban Bank & Trust (now Elmhurst Bank), starting as a Personal Banker before earning promotions to Assistant Branch Manager and then Branch Manager.
Villegas has been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Elmhurst and DuPage PADS homeless shelter for more than decade.
Married for 28 years, Villegas and her husband Tony are the parents of two adult children.
A 1993 graduate of IC Catholic Prep, Villegas earned an Associate’s Degree and Certificate in Supervision at the College of DuPage and majored in Business Management at Lewis University.
Established in 1918, the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who have joined together to promote the civic and commercial progress of the community.
