The Morton Arboretum (4100 Illinois Route 53, Lisle) match a 2001 record by attracting nearly 415,000 visitors in 2002, while memberships grew by 3.5 percent to 19,000.

Eight area restaurants have joined the Elmhurst Rotary Club (P.O. Box 147) campaign to eradicate polio worldwide. Fitz’s Pub (172 Addison Avenue), 100 South Chop House and Grill (100 South York Street) and Angelo’s Ristorante (247 North York Street) donated proceeds from one night in February.
