ELMHURST, Ill., February 11, 2009—The Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry announced today that it has created a publications consortium to produce the annual Elmhurst Community Directory and bi-annual Elmhurst Street Map.
The consortium of Chamber members Castco Communications, DiCianni Graphics and Desert Rose Design will work with Chamber staff on the design, typesetting and graphics, printing and mailing of both publications.
For the first time, both the Community Directory and Street Map will be direct mailed to every household (17,500) and business (2,100) in Elmhurst. Print runs will be increased to 25,000 (from 20,000) for the Directory and 22,000 (from 5,000) for the Street Map to allow for expanded distribution throughout the community.
This year’s Directory also will feature an enhanced look in design and graphics.
Directory advertising prices are expected to remain the same as in 2007 and 2008. Ad costs have increased only twice in the past six years, when the 2003 Directory went full color and the 2007 Directory was delivered in the mail.
Street Map ad prices are expected to remain the same as in 2008.
Aside from the standard member discounts, additional discounts are being considered for advertisers who book early, pre-pay and advertise in both publications.
Tentative publication dates are September for the Community Directory and January of 2010 for the Street Map.
The Chamber’s Board of Directors approved the consortium at its regular monthly in the Chamber Conference Room on February 10.
In the past, the Chamber contracted with the Elmhurst Press and then Elmhurst Independent to produce the Directory and with Village Profile to produce the street map.
Established in 1918, the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who have joined together to promote the civic and commercial progress of the community.
The Chamber also serves the needs of it members through services, programs and events that provide opportunities for networking and referral, business education, development and promotion, governmental representation and community involvement.
