Quigley signed on to the following RESPECT ELMHURST PLEDGE via the organization’s Facebook page as follows:
Realizing [I am a/we are] human being(s) and sometimes make mistakes, [I/we] will make [my/our] best effort to…:
- LISTEN to those who have different opinions.
- TREAT others in a kind manner, regardless of their age, gender, political affiliation, religion, race, disability, ancestry, sexual orientation or other.
- REFRAIN from name calling, profanity or other practices only meant to hurt others and not be constructive.
- REMAIN open minded and, at least, consider other viewpoints.
- ALLOW others to share their views, as long as we are treated with the same RESPECT given to them.
…whether comments are made in person, via social media, traditional media, or other written communication.
Any individual (or organization) who lives, works, volunteers, shops, is based in Elmhurst, or frequently communicates with those individuals or groups is welcome to take the pledge.
Pledges can be mailed to RESPECT ELMHURST at 242 North York Street, Unit 330, Elmhurst, IL 60126, e-mailed to respectelmhurst@gmail.com or submitted via Facebook and Instagram.
