The Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board of Directors elected two officers and approved one appointment for its six-member Executive Committee for 2024 at its regular monthly meeting held in the Hammersmith Community Room at Community Bank of Elmhurst on November 14.
Elected to serve one-year terms on the Executive Committee as follows were:
Chair—Colin Dalough, Manager, Community and Governmental Relations at Edward-Elmhurst Health (155 East Brush Hill Road); and
First Vice Chair—Angelas Villegas, Vice President and Branch Manager at Lakeside Bank (165 South York Street) in downtown Elmhurst.
The position of Second Vice Chair remains open at this time.
Appointed to serve a one-year term on the Executive Committee as follows was:
Treasurer—Ralph Pechanio, Chair of the City of Elmhurst’s Veterans Memorial Commission, former community banker and long-time Chamber volunteer.
Dalough, Villegas and Pechanio will be joined on the Executive Committee by Immediate Past Chair Rita Borzym, Financial Advisor at Edward Jones Investments (188 Industrial Drive, Suite 108) and ex-officio member John R. Quigley, Chamber President and CEO since 1999.
Borzym was the 12th female Board Chair in the Chamber’s 105-year history, all of them since 1982, and the 10th serving during Quigley’s 24-year tenure as ECCI’s President and CEO.
Dalough will work closely with the Chamber staff and oversee the policy-making work of the Chamber Board and its four standing committees (Marketing, Membership, Ways and Means, and Governmental Affairs), as well special committees and task forces.
Villegas will serve as Chair of the Membership Committee and Pechanio will chair the Ways and Means Committee, while Quigley chairs the Governmental Affairs Committee.
Dalough has served on the Board since his appointment in 2021 and on the 2023 Executive Committee first as Second Vice Chair and Chair of the Marketing Committee and then as First Vice Chair and Chair of the Membership Committee to fill a vacancy.
The former Director of Government Affairs at the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, Dalough has been a member of the Governmental Affairs Committee since 2021, when he was appointed to fill a Board vacancy.
Pechanio will serve as Treasurer and Chair of the Ways and Means Committee for a ninth consecutive appointed term.
Borzym was the 12th female Board Chair in the Chamber’s 104-year history, all of them since 1982, and the 10th serving during Quigley’s 23-year tenure as ECCI’s President and CEO.
Borzym was a member of the Membership Committee from 2019-22 and has served on the Ways and Means Committee since 2022.
Completing her fourth year of service on the Executive Committee was Past Chair Eva Sanchez, Broker with See Your House Right Here @porperties Elmhurst.
Sanchez served as 2022 Board Chair, 2021 First Vice Chair and 2020 Second Vice Chair, and has served on the Membership Committee since her first year as a Director starting in 2016.
