A recently-elected Nominating Committee slate of five candidates officially began three-year terms as members of the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry Board of Directors at the Board’s November 12 meeting at Community Bank of Elmhurst (330 West Butterfield Road).
Previously elected to Director terms that will expire in November of 2022 are:
Ken Bartels, Senior Vice President and Director at Community Bank of Elmhurst, and Principal and Owner at Ken Bartels Consulting (Elmhurst);
Rita Borzym, Financial Advisor with Edward Jones Investments;
Joseph Calabria, Branch Manager at BMO Harris Bank.
Scott LaMorte, Vice President of Business Development at Itasca Bank & Trust; and
Eva Sanchez, Realtor with See Your House Right Here @properties Elmhurst.
“Our Chamber is blessed to have well qualified individuals willing to serve on the Board of Directors, including two of whom are continuing with their terms of service,” said John R. Quigley, Chamber President and CEO since 1999.
Bartels and Sanchez were elected to their second terms as Directors.
Bartels served as Past Chair on the Executive Committee in 2019 after chairing the Board during our Chamber’s Centennial Celebration year in 2018. He also serves on the Ways and Means Committee.
Sanchez serbves on both the Marketing Committee and Membership Committee.
Borzym and LaMorte were installed as first-term elected Directors by outgoing Board Chair Kevin Kost of Edward Jones Investment.
Borzym serves on the Membership Committee.
All of the elected Directors were slated by a five-person Nominating Committee of non-Board members. This year’s slate ran uncontested, with no Chamber member filing the required petition to run for election.
The Board is comprised of 15 elected Directors serving three-year terms, plus three Ex-Officio Directors and an annually-appointed Treasurer. Elected Directors are limited to serving two consecutive terms, not counting years as an appointee filling a vacancy or as a post-term Past Chairperson.
