ELMHURST, Ill., November 21, 2018 – A recently-elected Nominating Committee slate of five candidates officially began three-year terms as members of the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board of Directors at the Board’s November 20 meeting at Community Bank of Elmhurst (330 West Butterfield Road).
Previously elected to Director terms that will expire in November of 2021 are:
Desiree Chen, Senior Director, Communications and External Relations, at Elmhurst College;
Jennifer Dunham, Branch Manager at BMO Harris Bank in south Elmhurst; and
Gregg Markiewicz, Senior Account Executive at The Stevens Group.
Lori Murray, Vice President and Regional Manager at Inland Bank; and
Dan Welz, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Lakeside Bank.
“Our Chamber is blessed to have well qualified individuals willing to serve on the Board of Directors, including three of whom are continuing with their terms of service,” said John Quigley, Chamber President and CEO since 1999.
Chen and Welz were elected to their second terms as Directors, while Murray was elected to her first term following her 2016 appointment to fill a Board vacancy.
Dunham and Markiewiz were installed as first-term elected Directors by outgoing Board Chair Ken Bartels of Community Bank of Elmhurst and Ken Bartels Consulting.
All of the elected Directors were slated by a non-Board Nominating Committee. This year’s slate ran uncontested, with no Chamber member filing the required petition to run for election.
The Board is comprised of 15 elected Directors serving three-year terms, plus three Ex-Officio Directors and an annually-appointed Treasurer. Elected Directors are limited to serving two consecutive terms, not counting years as an appointee filling a vacancy or as a post-term Past Chairperson.
