ELMHURST, Ill., June 5, 2009 – The Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Elmhurst City Centre and the City of Elmhurst welcome the community to the new Downtown Elmhurst Concert Series.

This free community event, sponsored jointly by the Chamber, City Centre and city, debuts on Friday and Saturday, June 12-13, from 6 to 11 p.m. on South York Street between Park and Adelaide avenues.

Elmhurst College’s award-winning Jazz Band headlines Friday’s entertainment from 8 to 10 p.m., with lo/fi pioneer opening from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Headlining Saturday’s entertainment award-winning Beatles tribute band British Export from 8 to 10 p.m., with Guilty Knowledge opening from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Concert dates include the second Saturday night in July (11th), August (8th) and September (12th).  The July and August concerts, will be staged in the municipal parking lot on the west side of Addison Avenue between First and Second streets.  The September concert location will be announced later this summer.

Established in 1918, the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who have joined together to promote the civic and commercial progress of the community.
