Annual Meeting/Silent Auction
The Chamber will hold its Annual Meeting/Silent Auction with a “Taste of Elmhurst” and Elmhurst Jaycees-sponsored Casino Night in the Waterford Banquet Room at the Quality Inn (933 South Riverside Drive) on Wednesday, January 25, 2006, starting at 5:30 p.m. with the 30-minute Annual Meeting, where the A.J. “Toche” Terrones Business of the Year, Ambassador of the Year and Chairman’s Award for 2005 will be presented. The Silent Auction, “Taste of Elmhurst” and Jaycees Casino will run from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Casino proceeds will benefit the Elmhurst Fire Department Fire Engine Restoration Fund. Ticket cost is $10.00 per person; bar is cash.
Business After Hours
Seven Ten Lanes (119 North York Street) will host the Chamber’s monthly Business After Hours on Tuesday, January 31, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Business Energy Webcast
The Illinois Small Business Smart Energy Design Assistance Center—in partnership with the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO), University of Illinois-Champaign’s School of Agriculture and the Geothermal Heat Pump Consortium—will promote energy efficiency for small businesses in Illinois and Missouri via its Small Business $mart Energy (SB$E) Webcast on Wednesday, January 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Hong Kong Is King
The Hong Kong Logistics Development Council, Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office and Hong Kong Trade Development Council will sponsor a free business development seminar at the Marriott Chicago O’Hare on Friday, January 20, from 10:45 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Sandra Lee, Permanent Secretary for Economic Development & Labor of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administration Region, will be the Keynote Speaker at a post-seminar luncheon. The Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra (P.O. Box 345) has received a $2,000.00 grant from Target to support its Annual Free Youth Concert to be held at the York Community High School Auditorium (335 West St. Charles Road) on Sunday, March 5, 2006, at 3:00 p.m. This year’s concert is titled “Peter and the Wolf & Friends.”
William Chapman, Jody Gauthier and Steve Lutz, Partners at Wolf & Company LLP (2100 Clearwater Drive, Oak Brook) are among five Wolf Financial Group executives selected as PKF North American Network committee members in 2006. They will serve on the Legal Services and Valuation, Continuing Professional Education and Healthcare committees, respectively. PKF is a membership organization comprised of 92 independent accounting and consulting firms in North America dedicated to serving middle market businesses and individual clients.
Holiday Inn Chicago-Elmhurst (624 North York Street), which is constructing the first indoor water park in Chicagoland, has named Laura Cesario as its new Sales Manager.

“Throw Away Your New Year’s Resolutions,” a goal-setting, results-getting presentation to the DuPage Executive Network by Executive Coach Elene Cafasso of Enerpace, Inc. “State of the City” Mayoral Address
Elmhurst Mayor Thomas D. Marcucci will deliver the annual “State of the City” Mayoral Address at the Chamber’s January Membership Breakfast hosted by co-sponsor Community Bank of Elmhurst on Tuesday, January 17, 2006, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Marcucci’s Address will be videotaped by “Elmhurst Our Kind of Town” for airing on Channel 6 of Comcast in February. The event is free to Chamber members, but seating is limited to 150.
