Greetings from Elmhurst College!
On behalf of the College, I would like to personally invite you to an Insider’s Tour on Wednesday, October 19th, to see an “inside” look at some of the exciting things happening in Elmhurst College’s science and performing arts programs. While the event begins at 4:00 p.m., please know you are welcome to join the tour at any point in the evening. In addition, if you have not had a chance to meet our new president, Troy VanAken, he will join us during the reception in the A.C. Buehler Library.
4:00 pm – Hear Dr. Brian Wilhite, Physics Department Chair and Associate Professor, lecture on “Extrasolar Planets: The Search for Worlds Beyond our Solar System” (Illinois Hall, Schaible Science Center)
5:00 pm – Wind Ensemble Rehearsal conducted by Dr. James Hile, Visiting Assistant Professor (Hammerschmidt Memorial Chapel)
6:00 pm – Tour the College’s art collection featuring works of Chicago Imagist and Abstractionist artists with curator Suellen Rocca; reception to follow (A.C. Buehler Library)
Parking is available in our Alexander lot across from the football field or near the Schaible Science Center. Shuttle service will be available to each of the other two locations and back to the parking lot at the end of the evening.
As you can see from the schedule above, an interesting and informative evening has been planned. Please let us know if you are able to join us or not by calling me, Linda Pohlman, at (630) 617-3607.
We hope to seeing you on October 19th!
