Membership Breakfast
The Chamber (113 Adell Place) will host the monthly Membership Breakfast on Thursday, September 19, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. to start an all-day Open House as a celebration kickoff for Chamber of Commerce Week (September 22-28).

Newsmakers
Luisa Scala purchased Wide Scope Staffing Services, Inc. (4415 West Harrison Street, Suite 202A, Hillside) on April 12, only five days after celebrating her 25th year as General Manager.  The 36-year-old employment agency joined the Chamber in May of 1993, and Scala serves as a Chamber Ambassador.

Mike Maddock, 37, President and Chief Financial Officer of Maddock Douglas (111 Adell Place) and Michael Illingworth, 33, President of All Chicagoland Moving & Storage Co. Ginger James, lunchtime waitress at Riley’s Gathering Place (590 South York Street), will appear on “Wheel of Fortune” on Friday, September 6, at 6:30 p.m.

Chamber President John Quigley will receive the Elmhurst College Bluejay Backers’ 2002 Community Service Award during halftime of the College’s Community Day football season opener versus Benedictine University at renovated Langhorst Field on Saturday, September 7, at 1:00 p.m.  A 1977 EC graduate, Quigley served his Alma Mater as Associate Director of Public Relations from 1991-99 and is an 11-year member of the Bluejay Backers Executive Committee. Langhorst’s $1 million renovation features a state-of-the-art artificial turf for football and soccer.

District 205 Foundation (130 West Madison Street) will host a black tie-optional “Passport to the Future” Grand Opening of York High School’s (335 West St. Charles Road) new Academic Building on Saturday, August 31, at 7:30 p.m.  Entertainment will feature the Elmhurst College Jazz Band.  Cost is $65.00 per person.  Call 617-2328 for more information.
