Business After Hours
Mimmo’s Pizza (561 North York Street) will host the Chamber’s Business After Hours on Tuesday, August 19, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Family Steak Fry
The Chamber will sponsor its annual Family Steak Fry at the Holiday Inn Elmhurst (624 North York Street) on Wednesday, September 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. Adults will dine on steaks from The Silverado Grill (447 Spring Road), while children will have their choice of hamburgers or hot dogs. Cost is $15.00 per adult, with children and/or grandchildren free. Dinner includes non-alcoholic beverages and a cash bar is available.

Twenty-seven percent of small and mid-size businesses increased employee benefit contributions to deal with higher health costs and 14 percent raised employee deductibles, while 23 percent changed benefit providers, according to a nationwide survey conducted by AFLAC.

The Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Foundation will host “California Dreamin’,” its annual fall fundraiser, at the Carlisle in Lombard on Friday, September 5, to benefit the hospital’s Emergency Department expansion. “Tee Off for Toche”
Novice golfer Dan Vanprooyen of Suburban Bank & Trust Co. scored a hole-in-one at the par-3, 108-yard 16th hole during the Chamber’s “Tee Off for Toche” 55th Annual Golf Outing at Oak Meadows Golf Course in Addison on July 22 to win a laser printer from Cardinal Cartridge, Inc. (211 Spangler Avenue).
All golfers and volunteers received a premium gift of a three-piece set of grilling utensils donated by Charter One Bank (100 Addison Avenue), plus a goodie bag of complimentary items.
Michael Carroo of Humbert Insurance Agency (188 Industrial Drive, Suite 430) captained the men’s low gross team, the Fitz’s Pub (172 Addison Avenue) foursome of Jim Friel, Brendan Fitzharris, Terry Fitzharris and Margie Fitzharris carded the coed low gross, and Debra Catalano of Catalano Mortgage Group of First Home Mortgage (112 South York Street) and Dare Messina of RE/MAX East-West (191 South Route 83) played on the women’s low gross team.
