Business After Hour
My Friend’s Place Salon & Nails (112 West Third Street) and Fontano’s Subs (113 West First Street) will co-host the Chamber’s Business After Hours at My Friend’s Place on Friday, May 12, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Business Networking for Women
Elmhurst also is among six chambers participating in a half-day Women in Business seminar, titled “Increase Your Networking Savvy:  Make Your Network Work For You,” featuring networking expert Lillian Bjorseth, at Seven Bridges in Woodridge on Friday, May 12, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Bjorseth is a nationally renowned speaker and trainer who helps Fortune 500 employees build high-value relationships by honing business networking, business development and communication skills.  The registration fee of $45.00 per member includes breakfast and lunch.  RSVP to the Chamber office by Monday, May 8.

Membership Breakfast
Fifth Third Bank (105 South York Street) will host the Chamber’s Membership Breakfast on Wednesday, May 10, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m.  Bank officials also will present the Chamber with a check for $7,000.00 as the exclusive Gold Sponsor of the City Centre Stage for Elmfest 2006, which will celebrate its 24th Anniversary in downtown Elmhurst June 8-11.

Elmhurst College (190 Prospect Avenue) has named 1996 graduate Filomena Horvath, formerly with the College’s Office of Conference and Guest Services, as the new Director of the Elmhurst College Fund.

Brown Building Company (781 Industrial Drive) recently completed a nine-week, four-building interior renovation project to serve as a residential therapeutic facility at Timberline Knolls, a Lemont-based facility for young women with behavioral health concerns.

Chamber Director Pete DiCianni, Founder and President of DiCianni Graphics (421 South Addison Road, Addison) and President of the Elmhurst Children’s Assistance Foundation (P.O. The Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra is sponsoring a symphony and art field trip to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Friday, April 28, for the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra’s “Shakespeare in Love” concert and a tour of the Milwaukee Art Museum.  The motor coach departs from York Commons parking lot at 8:00 a.m. and returns at 6:00 p.m.  Ticket cost is $65 for ESO subscribers and $75 for non-subscribers.  Call 941-0202 for more info.

The Elmhurst Jaycees (P.O. Box 235) will move their General Membership meeting on Thursday, May 4, at 7:00 p.m., to the Elmhurst Historical Museum, where Museum Director Brian Bergheger will present proposals on shared use of the Wilder Park Mansion.
