The award is being given to Levin “for his contributions to the betterment of the Elmhurst business community through his decade-plus of service to the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Industry, including as member of the Board of Directors and 2010 Board Chair, his service to the Elmhurst community as a member of the Elmhurst City Council from the 5th Ward, his charitable and philanthropic work with numerous not-for-profit organizations, and his personal and business support of the Chamber Golf Outing.”
“Scott is a special individual who shines whether taking the reins of leadership or contributing backstage,” stated John Quigley, Chamber President and CEO since 1999, “and our Chamber has benefited greatly from his good works.”
Levin served two terms as an elected Chamber Director and chaired the Board in 2010 as an Executive Committee member. He served as First Vice Chair and Chair of the Marketing Committee in 2009, Second Vice Chair and Chair of the Membership Committee in 2008, and Treasurer and Chair of the Ways and Means Committee in 2007. Prior to joining Howard & Howard, Levin was a Partner, Executive Committee member and Attorney-at-Law with Defrees & Fiske LLC for six years. His legal practice involves the areas of business and commercial law, litigation and intellectual property. Prior to Defrees & Fiske, Levin was the Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Levin, McParland & Minetz LLC (1993-03) and a Partner in the Business Litigation Department at Hinshaw & Culbertson (1986-93).

Levin has served as President and Legal Counsel for his neighborhood association, Chair of the Edison Elementary School Parent Teacher Association’s Legislative and Bylaws Committee and Chief in the Indian Guides Program.
Levin also has worked on election committees for local public officials and provided legal advice to several not-for-profit organizations. After an unsuccessful run for Mayor in 2009, Levin co-chaired the City of Elmhurst’s Financial Task Force (with Kevin Diamond) as an appointee of then-Elmhurst Mayor Peter DiCianni, who later appointed him as 5th Ward Alderman to fill a vacancy. Levin was then elected to the City Council in 2011.
Presented annually at the Chamber Golf Outing since 2000, the Good Works Award honors the memory of the late Chamber President, A.J. “Toche” Terrones, who led the Chamber for nearly 10 years until his death the night before the 1999 Golf Outing. “We present this award to people who have supported our Golf Outing in particular and the Chamber as a whole, and contributed to the Elmhurst business community at large,” Quigley stated.
