ELMHURST CHAMBER RESTATES ITS MISSION
ELMHURST, Ill., June 19, 2012—The Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ECCI) has developed a new Mission Statement to better describe its purpose.
ECCI’s new Mission Statement is as follows:
The Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry promotes an environment that creates the success of local businesses and our community.
The new Mission Statement was approved at the June 12 Board of Directors meeting at the Chamber, as developed and recommended by the Membership Committee, one of the Board’s four standing committees.
“In just a few words, our new Mission Statement now clearly describes our organization’s purpose,” stated John R. Quigley, ECCI’s President and CEO since 1999.
In 2006, the Executive Service Corps (ESC) of Chicago, as part of its six-month Market Analysis of the Elmhurst Chamber, ranked “a need to re-evaluate the current ECCI Mission Statement to be more explicit as to what ECCI does and to make it more relevant to all of Elmhurst,” as fourth among its Top-10 findings.
“As we are currently re-evaluating our standing in the marketplace with each of our constituents—members, the business community, residents, visitors and tourists, and others—the timing was ideal for redoing the Mission Statement,” stated Quigley.
Established in 1918, the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who have joined together to promote the civic and commercial progress of the community.
The Chamber also serves the needs of it members through services, programs and events that provide opportunities for networking and referral, business education, development and promotion, governmental representation and community involvement.
