Hailed as one of the Top 5 classical performances by TimeOut Chicago, the Spektral Quartet brings their adroit musicality and innovative programming to the Music@Bethel Concert Series on Sunday, March 18, 3 pm at Bethel United Church of Christ, 315 East St. Charles Road in Elmhurst.
One of Chicagoland’s most prominent and exciting classical ensembles, the Spektral Quartet has exploded on the classical music scene with truly breathtaking performances and vibrant programming. Receiving rave reviews for performances throughout the area by critics and audiences alike, the quartet brings a palpable new energy to chamber music that routinely showcases their technical aplomb and musical versatility. Committed to performing in non-traditional venues as well as concert halls, the foursome endeavors to perform the likes of Beethoven and Haydn alongside avant garde composers like Adés and Glass.
The group will perform Ravel’s Quartet in F major and then be joined by Music@Bethel’s Artistic Director and award winning pianist Jeffrey Panko for the Shostakovich Quintet in G minor.
The intimate and acoustically pleasing sanctuary of Bethel United Church of Christ is a perfect setting for this chamber ensemble. Audience members can meet the artists at a reception immediately following the concert. Food and beverages will be served.
