York Theatre Boasts “Predict the Oscars” Winner
Friday, March 18, 2011 — The ballots are in…and the Grand Prize Winner in Classic Cinemas’ annual “Predict the Oscars” contest, Gayle Silverman of Mt. Prospect, made her predictions while seeing a movie at the York Theatre in Elmhurst.
The winner receives free movies for two for an entire year at any Classic Cinemas’ 13 locations and a $200 gift certificate good at any of the 21 Chicagoland Francesca Restaurants.
“I am so thrilled,” stated Silverman, who just celebrated her birthday on March 12. I absolutely love movies and I may even go to Francesca’s for a celebratory birthday dinner.”
This year, 5,605 ballots were cast to predict the Oscar winners in seven categories: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Animated Film.
Each Classic Cinemas theatre selected one winner from the correct ballots entered at their respective locations. The 12 runners-up received a movie pass for one for the entire year and two passes to the Brookfield Zoo. Every correct entry received one pair of movie tickets and two Brookfield Zoo passes.
