The Chamberlain Group to Expand in Elmhurst

 

ELMHURST, IL, February 9, 2011 – Elmhurst Mayor Peter “Pete” DiCianni today announced the expansion of The Chamberlain Group in Elmhurst with plans to open a new Innovation and Design Center (IDC) in the former Saturn of Elmhurst dealership at 505 West Grand Avenue.

Representatives from the City have already held preliminary meetings with The

Chamberlain Group, which plans to open the new facility in fall 2011. The company

expansion has the potential to create 100 new jobs over the next four years.

“As proud Mayor of an economically viable community, I am excited The Chamberlain Group had confidence in Elmhurst when expanding their business,” stated DiCianni.  “The City of Elmhurst welcomes all businesses who wish to call Elmhurst home.”

The Chamberlain Group, Inc., manufactures and markets access control products

including residential garage door openers, commercial door operators, residential and

commercial gate operators, telephone entry systems, and related access control

products.

The company employs more than 4,000 people worldwide, including 327

Illinois-based employees at its world headquarters in Elmhurst and warehouse in

Addison.

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn announced today that The Chamberlain Group will receive a more than $1 million state investment package to allow for the operational expansion.
