ELMHURST, Ill., December 15, 2000 – John R. Quigley, President of the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry, has been named to the Nationwide Register’s 2001-2002 edition of Who’s Who in Executives & Businesses.
Quigley, 45, celebrated his first anniversary
as President at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting/Silent Auction on November 29. In the past year, the Chamber installed new computer and telephone systems, developed its Internet site (www.elmhurstchamber.org) and moved to an Elmhurst City Centre location with storefront offices.
Prior to joining the Chamber, Quigley served at Elmhurst College, his Alma Mater, as Associate Director of Public Relations for nearly nine years. While there, he served on the Chamber’s Board of Directors and Elmfest Steering Committee, chaired the golf outing committee and annual meeting committee, and was Past Chairperson (then President) on the green-coated Ambassador.
The Chamber honored Quigley for his service with its prestigious Duke of Elmhurst award at the 1997 Annual Meeting.
A 1977 graduate of Elmhurst College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and public speaking, Quigley enjoyed an award-winning, 15-year career in journalism—including a six-year stint as Sports Editor for Press Publications (now part of Liberty Suburban Chicago Newspapers)—before returning to his Alma Mater.
In 1976, Quigley, then a junior at Elmhurst College, was named to Marquis’ Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
Registered at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., the Nationwide Register’s annual publication recognizes individuals for having reached a level of success in their respective field.
