ELMHURST CHAMBER HONORS HOTEL EXEC
AS AMBASSADOR OF THE YEAR
ELMHURST, Ill., November 20, 2002 — Local businesswoman Sharon Eckart was recognized as Ambassador of the Year for 2002 at the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Annual Meeting/Silent Auction held at Elmhurst College’s Frick Center last Tuesday (November 19).
The award is presented annually to a member of the Chamber Ambassadors for his/her outstanding service.
Eckart, Executive Sales Manager at the Holiday Inn Express (933 South Route 83) and a Partner in Party Productions by S&R, Inc. (10110 McLean, Melrose Park), has served as an Ambassador since 2001 and has been active in the Chamber for three years.
This year, Eckart also became a member of the Membership Committee and contributed greatly to the Chamber’s record-setting year for new membership.
The green-coated Ambassadors represent the Chamber at numerous member business functions, including ribbon cuttings, grand openings, anniversaries and other celebrations and special events. The group is comprised mostly of current and former members of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. Erv Helmuth, Owner of dotcomcleaners, Ltd. (339 West Golf Road, Schaumburg), is Chairperson of the Ambassadors.
The award was presented by the outgoing Chairman of the Chamber’s Board, Adam Hudelson, Market President at US Bank (536 South York Street) and Chamber President John Quigley.
Established in 1918, the Elmhurst Chamber is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who have joined together for the purpose of promoting the civic and commercial progress of the community.
The Chamber also serves the needs of its members through services, programs and events that provide opportunities for networking and referral, business education, development and promotion, governmental representation and community involvement.
