Newsmakers
Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network (660 North Industrial Drive) announced records of 289 families consenting to organ donations and 929 lifesaving organ transplants in 2002.  In addition, 947 families consented to tissue donations.

Slamming Alert
The Illinois Chamber of Commerce is warning business owners to routinely check their monthly statements to confirm that their telecommunication services are being provided by the supplier of their choice.  Complaints can be directed to the Illinois Commerce Commission, Illinois Attorney General and Federal Communications Commission, as well as the Better Business Bureau and Citizens Utility Board.
