Board of Directors Nominations
The Chamber is accepting Board of Director nominations for seven of the three-year terms to be filled in the October election.  The 30-day nomination period runs from September 4 through October 3.

Any member of the Chamber in good standing can nominate himself/herself or another Chamber member in good standing by submitting said nomination in writing to the Nominating Committee at the Chamber office no later than 5:00 p

.m. on Friday, October 3, signed by the nominator and two seconding nominators who are also Chamber members in good standing.  Nomination forms are available at the Chamber office.

Business After Hours
York Furrier (107 North York Street) will host the Chamber’s Business After Hours on Wednesday, October 8, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Newsmakers
Mark Petrilli, Manager of the Small Business Office at the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), will conduct a one-hour seminar on state programs and assistance for small business start-ups or expansion at the Elmhurst Public Library (125 South Prospect Avenue) on Tuesday, October 7, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Registration is not required.

Kopper Kitchen (601 West St. Charles Road) will donate 20 percent of a customer’s bill to Visitation School during October, if so asked by the customer.  The program is valid for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Call Janet McCarthy at 833-8319 for more info.

Elmhurst College (190 Prospect Avenue), in partnership with the City of Elmhurst (209 North York Street) will host a dedication ceremony for the Lester Brune Tennis Courts on Saturday, September 27, at 9:30 a.m.  The new six-court facility is located west of the intersection of Park and Myrtle avenues.  Also, the College recently completed $50,000.00 in upgrades and renovations to its Mill Theatre (253 Walter Street).

Health and Fitness Membership

The Auxiliary of the Elmhurst Symphony Association (P.O. Box 345) will host a Gorgonzola ‘N Vino Opening Night Gala at Elmhurst College’s Frick Center on Saturday, October 4, at 9:00 p.m., following 7:00 p.m. “The People’s Choice” ESO concert in Hammerschmidt Memorial Chapel.  Cost is $30.00 per person.  Call 941-0202 to order tickets.
