City OKs Auto Dealer Tax Incentive
The Elmhurst City Council on July 19 approved a $1.3 million tax incentive that will assist Larry Roesch Chrysler-Jeep (200 West Grand Avenue) to purchase Elmhurst Dodge (750 North York Street) and create a three-line dealership on Grand Avenue.
The city agreed to split retail sales tax above the dealership’s current $25 million in sales up to $1.3 million or for seven year, whichever comes first.
Larry Roesch also will sell the Dodge property to a Hyundai dealership.
Elmfest on Cable TV
Highlights from Elmfest 2005, including the June 10 Opening Ceremonies and Civic Hall of Fame Induction of Jackie Haddad, will air on Channel 6 of Comcast on Saturday, July 30, at 6:00 p.m.
Membership Breakfast
Wide Scope Staffing Services (4415 West Harrison Street, Suite 232, Hillside) and GO Promotions (348 Fair Avenue) will co-host the Chamber’s Membership Breakfast at Wide Scope on Wednesday, August 24, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m.

The Chamber is sponsoring its 15th Annual New Teachers Luncheon for teachers new to Elmhurst’s public and private school at the Diplomat West Banquet Halls (681 West North Avenue) on Wednesday, August 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Lunch cost is $25.00 per person, plus $25.00 to sponsor a teacher. Donations for teacher goodie bags are welcome.

Bianca Rose (108 West Second Street), a new luxury footwear and handbag store that will replace Create-a Mosaic, has been awarded a $10,000.00 Central Business District (CBD) Retail Development Grant.

Fleet Feet Sports will sponsor a Women’s5K, 10K & Festival at Chicago’s Montrose Harbor on Sunday, July 31, starting at 9:30 a.m. with a coed race for kids ages two to 14.
The Elmhurst Children’s Assistance Foundation (P.O. Box 291) is sponsoring its 10th Annual Golf Outing and Awards Dinner at Oak Meadows Golf Course, 900 North Wood Dale Road, Addison, on Tuesday, August 2, starting at 11:20 a.m. with registration. The cost for 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch and dinner, and open bar is $150 per person. Dinner only with open bar is $75 per person.
