A Nominating Committee slate of five recently-elected candidates officially began three-year terms as members of the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board of Directors at the Board’s November 12 meeting at Community Bank of Elmhurst (330 West Butterfield Road).

As sworn in by Outgoing Board Chair Colin Dalough of Endeavor Health, new Directors with first terms expiring in November of 2027 were as follows:
Gosia Baran, Owner of Helping Hands Cleaning Service in Elmhurst.
Nicky Steinberg, Co-Publisher of Elmhurst Living Magazine; and
Jim Worden, Owner of Worden Valuation Services in Elmhurst.

Elected to a first term was incumbent Director Scott LaMorte, Vice President of Business Development & Commercial Lending at Community Bank of Elmhurst, who was appointed to fill a Board vacancy in 2024.

Elected to a second term was incumbent Director Rita Borzym, Financial Advisory with Edward Jones Investments, who has completed her four-year tenure on the Executive Committee as Past Board Chair.

“Our Chamber is blessed to have well qualified individuals willing to serve on the Board of Directors, including one of whom is continuing with her term of service,” said John R. Quigley, Chamber President and CEO since 1999.

Borzym and Worden have served on the Board’s Ways and Means Committee for years and LaMorte has served on the Marketing Committee.

Baran and Steinberg are new members to the Marketing and Membership committees, respectively, in 2024.

The newly-elected Directors were slated by a five-person Nominating Committee of non-Board member Past Board Chairs. This year’s slate ran uncontested, with no Chamber member filing the required petition to run for election.

The Board is comprised of 15 elected Directors serving three-year terms, plus three Ex-Officio Directors and an annually-appointed Treasurer.  Elected Directors are limited to serving two consecutive terms, not counting years as an appointee filling a vacancy or as a post-term Past Chairperson.
