SPRING ROAD BUSINESSMAN RECEIVES
ELMHURST CHAMBER CHAIRMAN’S AWARD

ELMHURST, Ill., January 27, 2006 – Local businessman Hosi Mehta received the 2005 Chairman’s Award at the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s 87th Annual Meeting/Silent Auction held at the Waterford Banquet Room at the Quality Inn last Wednesday (January 25).

The annual award traditionally is given to a member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors for his/her outstanding service to the Board, Chairman and President.

Outgoing Board Chairman Tom Cathcart presented the 2005 award to Mehta for “selfless” service to the Board, the Chair and the Elmhurst community.

Mehta, Founder (1982) and Owner of Mehta Motors (463 Spring Road), is in his second term as a Director and has been a Chamber member since 1987.  He also has been active in the Spring Road Business Association for many years.

His 33 years of experience in the automotive repair profession includes 28 years as a business owner, the last 23 years at Mehta Motors, where he now works alongside his sons.

A 17-year Elmhurst resident, Mehta serves on the Board of Directors of Character Counts in Elmhurst (current President) and Ray Graham Association for People with Disabilities, is a member of the Elmhurst Youth Commission’s Board of Commissioners, and has been a member (and Past President) of the Kiwanis Club of Elmhurst since 1989.

He is a member of the Zoroastrian Center of Chicago.

Established in 1918, the Elmhurst Chamber is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who have joined together for the purpose of promoting the civic and commercial progress of the community.

The Chamber also serves the needs of its members through services, programs and events that provide opportunities for networking and referral, business education, development and promotion, governmental representation and community involvement.
