Business-To-Business Expo
Marketing and sales guru Tony Rubleski, President of the Mind Capture Group, will be the Keynote Speaker at the Chamber’s 2006 Business-To-Business Expo in the Waterford Banquet and Conference Center at Quality Inn (933 South Riverside Drive) on Wednesday, October 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

Rubleski will preach about the “Seven Secrets To Improve Your Marketing and Get More Sales” in his 60-minute address, starting at 11:00 a.m.

Join Suburban Bank and Trust Company (150 Butterfield Road) as one of our four Keynote Speaker sponsors ($699.00) and you will receive a 20-minute private consultation with Tony Rubleski following his seminar, VIP seating at the seminar and autographed copy of “MIND CAPTURE,” complimentary booth space in choice location, and recognition on line (with hyperlinks) and in print.

Chamber of Commerce Week/Month
Elmhurst has joined the rest of Illinois in celebrating Chamber of Commerce Week from September 11-15 by offering new members 16 months of benefits (through 2007) for the annual fee.

Members can earn the following incentives (valued at $150.00 each) by sponsoring 1-2 new members (pick 1), 3-4 new members (choose 2) and 5 or more (get all 3):
     *  Member Message to more than 850 businesspeople;
     *  3-month logo placement on Chamber home page with hyperlink; and
     *  3-month inclusion in the New Resident Greeter Box program starting in January.

Steak Fry/Business After Hours
Nearly 300 members and guests are signed up to attend the Chamber’s Steak Fry/Business After Hours—featuring a hand-cut rib-eye steak dinner (or chicken breast) and all the fixings from The Silverado Grill (447 Spring Road) plus beverages—at The Hub at Beren’s Park (493 Oaklawn) on Wednesday, September 20, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  Co-sponsored by ARC Disposal & Recycling Co., Inc. (2101 South Busse Road, Mt. Prospect) and the Elmhurst Jaycees (P.O. Box 235), the event includes use of the 18-hole miniature golf course, batting cages and spray ground.

Ticket cost is $20.00 per person and the reservation deadline is
Friday, September 15.  Hot dogs and soft drinks are free for children and grandchildren.

Membership Breakfast
Montalbano Furniture Restoration (3000 St. Charles Road, Bellwood) will host the Chamber’s Membership Breakfast on Wednesday, September 13, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m.

The Elmhurst College Bluejay Backers (190 Prospect Avenue) gave its 2006 Community Service Award to Abner Ganet, member of the College’s Board of Trustees, ex-Elmhurst Mayor and former Owner of Leonard’s Fine Men’s Clothing (129 North York Street), at the Community Day football game at Langhorst Field on September 2.

Phillip Sassano Design (782-5563, ext. 2) has relocated from
downtown Elmhurst to 465 Spring Road and started a retail home dйcor and artistic accessories boutique called Refined Rustic (279-1793).

Suburban Bank and Trust Company has hired former Harris Bank executives Mia Erickson and Joseph Castellon as Vice President/Senior Financial Planner and Vice President/Portfolio Manager, respectively.

Dr. Ashish M. Rawal, an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the care of sports injuires to the knee, shoulder, hip, foot and ankle, has joined the staff at Elmhurst Orthopaedics, Inc. (300 West Butterfield Road).

Elmhurst College ranks ninth among its peers in the 2006-07 “America’s Best Colleges” issue of U.S. News & World Report, its fourth consecutive top-10 ranking.

Immanuel Lutheran Church and School (142 East Third Street) installed its new teachers in a joint worship service with Melrose Park’s Walther Lutheran High School in celebration of Christian education on September 10.

Two female caddies at River Forest Country Club (15W468 Grand Avemue), Nimbe Juarez and Aisha Smith, were selected as Chick Evans Scholars and will receive full tuition, room and board at the University of Illinois and Northwestern University, respectively.
