FED ECONOMIST IS KEYNOTE AT MULTI-CHAMBER LUNCHEON

ELMHURST, Ill, February 4, 2008 – Noted economic expert William A. Strauss of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago will be the Keynote Speaker for the 6th Annual Economic Forecast Luncheon, co-sponsored by the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry and five other area chambers at the Ashton Place, 341 75th Street, Willowbrook, on Friday, February 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

“This luncheon provides our members with an opportunity to hear an insider’s take on the economy and network with members from a half-dozen chambers from neighboring communities,” said John Quigley, Elmhurst Chamber President and CEO.

Sponsoring chambers include the Clarendon Hills, Darien, Hinsdale and Lisle chambers of commerce, and Westmont Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau.

Williams Strauss, who is making his debut at this multi-chamber luncheon, is a Senior Economist and Economic Advisor in the Economic Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, which he joined in 1982.  He also serves on the Board of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE).

Strauss is following in the footsteps of his contemporary in the field of business economics, Carl Tannenbaum, the former Chief Economist at LaSalle Bank and fellow NABE Board member who keynoted the previous five luncheons.

Registration and networking begins at 11:30 a.m., with the London broil lunch service starting at 11:55 a.m.

The cost is $30.00 per person for members of the six sponsoring chambers.
Non-member cost is $35.00 per person.
