ELMHURST, Ill., February 11, 2009—The Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry announced today that it has formed a partnership with Elmhurst City Centre to stage a Summer Concert Series in downtown Elmhurst, in place of hosting Elmfest.
Concerts will be scheduled for the second or third Saturday night of the month in June, July, August and September. Each concert is expected to feature an opening act with a local following and a headline performer with broader appeal.
A name for the Summer Concert Series has not yet been decided.
Concert plans still need approval from the Elmhurst City Council’s Public Affairs & Safety Committee of the Elmhurst City Council, and then the City Council as a whole.
The Chamber’s Board of Directors approved the partnership at its regular monthly meeting in the Chamber Conference Room on February 10.
City Centre’s Board of Directors approved the partnership at its January 27 regular monthly meeting at Elmhurst City Hall.
Established in 1918, the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who have joined together to promote the civic and commercial progress of the community.
The Chamber also serves the needs of it members through services, programs and events that provide opportunities for networking and referral, business education, development and promotion, governmental representation and community involvement.
