The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County will sell unclaimed and surplus items such as jewelry, fishing tackle, tools, electronics a vintage catalog and handheld corn husker at a live auction at 4:30 p.m. May 27 at Auctions by Jennifer, 883 E. Geneva Rd., Carol Stream.
Rules and instructions are posted at auctionsbyjennifer.com, and bidders must register and be present at the auction to bid.
The District is also selling larger surplus and unclaimed items, such as vehicles, trailers, heavy equipment, mowers, office equipment and bicycles, online during weekly bidding periods through October. Bidding periods and item descriptions are posted and updated at dupageforestauction.com. Actual bidding takes place at www.govdeals.com/dupageforest, Bidders must register, and the District’s govdeals.com page will only be active during the posted bidding periods.
Interested bidders who want to view items in person at the District’s Fleet Management facility in Lombard should schedule appointments weekdays between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. by calling 630-580-7100. Viewings are by appointment only and are only available weeks that active auctions take place.
“These auctions help the District repurpose items so we can keep them out of landfills,” said Forest Preserve District of DuPage County President Joe Cantore. “They also generate revenue for the District and help offset the cost of providing programs and services for visitors.”
