My name is Steve Talaski and I am member of the Elmhurst Professional Firefighters #3541. Five years ago, one of our firefighters endured a battle with cancer. With the help of local business owners and community support, we were able to combat his struggle with this fatal disease by sponsoring the “Firemen with Moustaches” fundraiser. As a result of the collaborative efforts, we raised over $10,000 that was donated to the American Cancer Society.
Our efforts did not stop there; we focused our efforts on supporting local charities by hosting a comedy night showcase. “Laughing Proud” is a comedy show that features local comedians using their talents to raise money through laughter. On Saturday, April 25, 2015 we will be hosting our “5th Annual Laughing Proud Showcase” at Fitz’s Spare Keys in Elmhurst. Our goal is to raise money through the purchase of show and raffle tickets. We are asking you to help join in on our efforts by donating an item(s) that can be used as a raffle prize that evening. So far “Laughing Proud” has become the foundation for Local 3541 to donate:
$40,000+ for MDA and “Fill the Boot”,
$15,000+ for Elmhurst Relay for life team,
As well as donating to other small local charities
In return for your generous contribution, we will promote your business at the show. Your business name will be printed on a sponsor’s banner and placed on a program that will be given to attendees. We would invite you to provide any other advertising items or promotional literature that can be placed on tables.
