IC Catholic Prep’s (ICCP) Pastor and Board of Directors have announced the selection of Barbara Goworowski, Class of 1979, as the new President of IC Catholic Prep, effective July 1, 2019.
“I am happy to announce, upon the recommendation of the Board, that Barbara has been chosen as the new high school president,” said Very Rev. Thomas Paul, V.F. K.H.S, Pastor, Immaculate Conception Parish. “We welcome her in this professional capacity to ICCP. Barbara has been a part of our community for many years – she and her husband Peter are long-time parishioners, and parents of three ICCP graduates (AJ ’08, Mary ’11, and Ben ’13), and she is a proud member of the ICCP Class of 1979. Her professional background and experiences will help our school grow stronger as a leader in Catholic education. I am confident that Barbara will make lasting and meaningful contributions here, building on our legacy of preparing socially responsible citizens for the challenges of the future.”
In addition to her passion for Catholic education and the IC community, Goworowski brings considerable leadership experience with a strong background in marketing, business strategy, management and development, as well as community engagement and fundraising. Previously, Goworowski held a number of executive marketing positions at Pinnacle Dermatology, Access Media Holdings, Zebra Technologies, Motorola, Verio and Ameritech.
“Immaculate Conception has played a tremendous role in my life,” said Goworowski. “As President of IC Catholic Prep, I intend to bring the perspective of my corporate work experience along with my life-long Catholic faith to the ICCP community in our mission of developing independent thinkers. I look forward to working with Fr. Tom, IC parish leadership and the ICCP board. I am pleased to carry on the fantastic work started by Tom Schergen, Amy Fahey and Pamela M. Levar – incredible leaders who have built a foundation of excellence.”
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing President, Tom Schergen who will transition officially to principal on July 1,” said Tom Ryan (’81), ICCP Board Chair. “Tom has been a tenacious, compassionate and strong leader of the work at IC Catholic Prep. The Board looks forward to working in partnership with Barbara and Tom to sustain the important work that is being done for our students.”
