ELMHURST CHAMBER CHAIRMAN’S AWARD
RECOGNIZES FEMALE FINANCIAL PROFESSIONAL

ELMHURST, Ill., November 20, 2002 – Local businesswoman and financial professional Cathy Bajkowski of Elmhurst received the 2002 Chairman’s Award at the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Annual Meeting/Silent Auction held at Elmhurst College’s Frick Center last Tuesday (November 19).
         
The annual award traditionally is given to a member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors for his/her outstanding service to the Board, Chairman and President.

Outgoing Board Chairman Adam Hudelson, Market President at U.S. Bank (536 South York Street) presented the 2002 award to Bajkowski, Financial Professional (LUTCF, with Series 6 license) for The MONY Group (700 Commerce Drive, Suite 430, Oak Brook), for her service as the First Vice Chairman and Marketing Committee Chair.

A three-year Executive Committee member, Bajkowski recently was elected to succeed Hudelson as Board Chairman for 2003.  Her experience includes service as Second Vice Chairman and Chair of the Membership Committee in 2001, and Treasurer and Chair of the Ways and Means Committee in 2000.

Bajkowski, who was reelected to a second three-year Director’s term in October, is a 10-year Chamber member and a long-time member of the Chamber Ambassadors.

She also has been active in the planning of the Chamber’s three major fundraising events—Elmfest, “Tee Off for Toche” Golf Outing and Annual Meeting/Silent Auction.

Bajkowski also has been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Elmhurst since 1996 and is a founding member of The Committee of 100 women’s group.

Bajkowski and her husband, Joe, a painting contractor, reside in Elmhurst.

Established in 1918, the Elmhurst Chamber is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who have joined together for the purpose of promoting the civic and commercial progress of the community.

The Chamber also serves the needs of its members through services, programs and events that provide opportunities for networking and referral, business education, development and promotion, governmental representation and community involvement.
